Caesars Louisiana has launched their sports betting platform in LA to much acclaim. Our review investigates what they offer and whether it’s worth the hype.
Features of Caesars Sportsbook
One of the main perks of the sportsbook-casino hybrid model is that these firms can offer their customers an array of benefits. The Caesars Rewards program is evidently a feature that ensures this brand is able to offer a unique opportunity to their bettors, though we’ll explain more about this later in this review.
As far as special features via their betting platforms are concerned, it’s difficult to make a case for anything that isn’t readily available at their rivals.
What we would say is that this is a firm that offers more bet boosts than most. At the time of writing this review, there were 75 enhanced odds offers available across basketball, football, soccer, hockey, golf, and more.
Comparison of Markets & Odds on Caesars Sportsbooks
To compare Caesars Louisiana odds with any other sportsbook, we’ve taken a deep dive into two different scenarios.
First up, we’ve taken a look at the odds of all the major Louisiana sportsbooks for an NBA game chosen at random – Philadelphia 76ers at Cleveland Cavaliers. In the moneyline stakes, Caesars were one tick behind the best-priced books.
One of the things you’ll notice is that Caesars doesn’t offer that many options in the spreads and totals stakes – instead, they offer good odds on their chosen lines, which in this case was +/-4 and over/under 218.5 respectively.
We’ve also analyzed the prices offered in the Super Bowl futures. Caesars was the joint best price for the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and Dallas Cowboys – that’s the first, third, and sixth teams in the market. Consequently, their odds are less impressive for those further down the docket, but if you want to back the favorites, then Caesars are a great option.
Caesars’ Legal Status in Louisiana
Having been established as a casino operator way back in 1966, Caesars has seen the gambling industry change beyond all recognition. Those changes include the legalization of sports betting in Louisiana in 2021, and Caesars has since begun to make strides in LA thanks to their hook-up with European firm William Hill.
They have been licensed and approved by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board since the start of 2022, and despite much of their business being focused on Las Vegas, the Caesars brand is growing across the US. But is Caesars in Louisiana the best place to go for sports betting in LA?
Caesars Louisiana Welcome Offer
Caesars have opted to go down the bet credit bet route as their welcome offer. So, you can wager up to $1,250 with your first bet with Caesars, and one of two things will happen: you’ll win, and Caesars will pay out as normal. Or you’ll lose, at which point Caesars will refund your stake as site credits.
The truth is that you won’t get a single cent of bonus funds from Caesars if your initial wager wins, so like we always say in our Louisiana sportsbook reviews, it’s a sort of ‘false’ bonus when these firms offer bet credits.
That said, it’s a fun way to place a long odds parlay without any danger to your bankroll, and as we’ll discover later in this Caesars Louisiana review, there are plenty of reasons to admire this brand beyond just their welcome offer.
Promotions and Special Offers on Caesars
One thing you notice about Caesars is that their promotions and offers tend to be time-sensitive. For example, at the time of writing, they were offering profit boosts on a pair of NCAAB games. If bettors won wagers on both spreads, they were treated to $50 in site credit.
So there are plenty of promos offered by Caesars, it’s just that they tend to change on a regular basis. One offer that has stood the test of time, however, is the refer-a-friend package – when your buddies sign up for an account and deposit $50 or more, you’ll bank a $100 bet credits.
Payment Methods on Caesars Louisiana
You’ll find a myriad of payment methods that are accepted by Caesars Louisiana, and that makes getting money into your account, and withdrawing your winnings if the time comes, a whole bunch easier.
Deposits can be made via Visa and Mastercard, VIP Preferred eCheck, prepaid Play+ card, PayNearMe, and online banking. All are free of charge and, for the most part, deposits are instantly added to your account. You can even stop by the Horseshoe Bossier City Sportsbook and make a deposit.
When the time comes to make a withdrawal, here’s what you can expect:
Payment Method | Processing Time | Min/Max Per Withdrawal |
Play+ | Up to 48 hours | $20/$5,000 |
PayPal | Up to 48 hours | $20/$10,000 |
Online Banking | 3-5 business days | $20/$5,000 |
VIP Preferred eCheck | 7-10 business days | $20/$5,000 |
Cash @ Cage | Instant | $20/$5,000 |
User Experience of Caesars Sportsbook in Louisiana
Caesars have onboarded William Hill, the experienced British betting firm, to help them catch a hefty slice of the Louisianan betting market. The benefits of that are to be found in the end-user experience.
Strangely, given the theatrics of their marketing campaigns, Caesars has gone for a low-key look and feel to their website: it’s pretty much a black-and-white color scheme throughout. It gives the desktop site an almost clinical feel, but the good news is that without the distraction of bright graphics and animations we can concentrate on simply getting our bets on instead.
Bet finding is straightforward too, with little icons for each sport listed horizontally at the top of the screen and an A-Z list vertically down the left-hand side. It’s a fairly generic layout, but that should be taken as a positive rather than a negative.
You can flick seamlessly between live and pre-event betting, and you’ll even see a dedicated icon for bet boosts – the number in red revealing how many different options are available.
The influence of William Hill has helped to give the Caesars repertoire of sports a European feel. So alongside football, basketball, hockey, and baseball, you’ll see soccer, tennis, and slightly more niche betting concerns such as rugby, snooker, and cycling.
Other than the bet slip taking up an extraordinary amount of on-screen space unnecessarily, the user experience at Caesars is a strong one.
Caesars Louisiana’s Mobile Experience
Matching the strong desktop showing is that of Caesars’ two mobile apps, with both Apple and Android devices catered for.
Both of the applications are well regarded by the betting community: they’ve been scored 4.6 out of 5 and 4.4 in the Google Play and Apple Stores respectively, and it’s a consensus we’re happy to go with.
The apps work seamlessly and feature all of the positive points of their desktop companion, with easy bet finding/placement and a raft of payment methods to call upon. It’s easy to maneuver between the various pages, events, and markets, and you’ll even get to switch between the sportsbook and casino from within the same app if you wish – using the same bankroll, no less.
Quality of Customer Service on Caesars
There are some horror stories about the effectiveness and even the mere presence of Caesars’ customer support team. While acknowledging that, we can only reflect upon our own experiences and those have been pretty solid so far.
We had contact with the firm via both live chat (the link is available on their website) and email (support-la@caesarssportsbook.com) and had no issues to report on either front.
After some general miscommunication, our live chat query was solved within 20 minutes, and while our email took longer to be acknowledged, we did eventually get an answer within about four or five hours.
So, yep, Caesars’ customer support isn’t the most responsive by any means, but we did eventually get the help that we needed.
Caesars Rewards Program
One of the main benefits available to Caesars Louisiana customers is that they can opt into the Caesars Rewards program.
Every bet you place will earn online reward credits that go towards your tally, and these can later be exchanged for all manner of goodies. Those range from bet credits to discounted stays at Caesars’ hotels, so this is a perk well worthy of your time.
Summary of Caesars Sportsbook in Louisiana
Like other casino firms, Caesars has had to adapt to the online sports betting space – they’ve brought William Hill on board to ease that transition.
The result is a very strong sportsbook offering that ticks all of the boxes as far as usability is concerned, and that’s a philosophy that has happily switched to the app as well.
Add into the mix a solid welcome offer, access to the Caesars Rewards program, and extras like bet boosts, and we can sign off on our Caesars Louisiana review by saying this is a sportsbook that won’t let you down.
