Sports Betting Louisiana » NBA Preview: Memphis Grizzlies vs New Orleans Pelicans

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies will visit Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans for their NBA Tuesday night clash at Smoothie King Center.

The Grizzlies are coming off a 102-92 loss against the Washington Wizards (8-6)  but still have a 9-5 record while the Pelicans have run away against the Houston Rockets (2-11) and improved their standing to (7-6).

Despite having a better record, the Grizzlies open as underdogs against the Pelicans, but not by far. Oddsmakers expect this to be anybody’s ball game as both teams are filled with young stars mixed with reliable veterans.

NBA Southwest Division Showdown

The Top 2 NBA Draft selections for the 2019 class will meet tomorrow for a thrilling NBA Southwest Division match-up. Both the Pelicans and the Grizzlies are showing some serious potential this season as the NBA is looking like in a transition period where emerging superstars start dominating.

Zion Williamson puts up 26 points while shooting 8 of 9 from the field. He gets more than what he needs as the Rocket’s defense let him go for one-on-one opportunities under the rim. He gets calls and shot 10 of 12 from the charity area. He leads the Pels this season with 23.5 PPG and a 23.36 Player Efficiency Rating (PER).

Meanwhile, Ja Morant is still taking leaps that the fans want as he averaged 28.8 PPG this season while also leading the Grizzlies with 7 APG and 25.7 PER. However,  left ankle soreness sidelined him during their latest loss.

While rising stars are showing promising numbers, these numbers may not be possible without the help of their reliable veteran teammates like CJ McCollum and Steven Adams.

Zion may be getting all the highlights but CJ is leading the team in terms of Assist 6.3), Steals (1.4), and even Blocks (0.6). On the other hand, Steven Adams continues to do what he usually does, grabbing 11.4 rebounds and getting 1.2 blocks per game to support his point guard.
